My computer decided this morning to continue its hate of the internet therefore no pictures have been able to be loaded onto the internet, with hope I can fix the problem and start sharing tonight!
Lately, I have been pretty adamant about getting some things in the new apartment finished. The things on my to do list that have been completed are:
~Hang the frame gallery
~Find new Patio furniture
~Organize
This is the most pitiful list I have ever seen. We've been in the new place for about two and a half months and three things have been completed. I need to get in gear, I'm hosting a big birthday party for my roommate in October so I want to have a few more things completed by then.
I have however been on the lookout for a dresser to use as a TV console. With a lot of my furniture being from Ikea I want something that is a little vintage. I've been looking for some mid-century pieces on Craigslist and came across a few I liked on Friday.
This is my favorite.
I love this one as well but the top scares me for painting purposes. How great are those handles though!
I wasn't able to go look at them yet because of work but hopefully I can get my hands on one. We are in desperate need of something new to hold the TV and for storage.
These are my inspiration pieces.
Hopefully I will come across something soon that will work and fit in the budget!

inspiration.
I've been finding so much inspiration on Pinterest lately so I thought I would share a few of the things I want to incorporate into my home someday. Most of them more likely when I have a house but until then...
I see a trend going on. A lot of black, white, splashes of pink, navy, and some coral with neutrals mixed in. Love all of these. Where have you been getting your inspiration from lately?

the final answer is no.
I started a whole Wedding Wednesday post today only to delete the whole thing after completing it because I thought the picture collage looked ugly. If your wondering what the topic was, it was Groom's Gifts and the selections I thought best were a watch, wallet, sporting event tickets/concert tickets, and a cigar humidor...original I know. Thus the reason it was deleted.
Lately I have had a lot of trouble finding inspiration and keep second guessing all my decisions. For instance, the dresser I loved and wanted to use as a TV console I was a little unsure about but for $40 who cares right? Well I waited and kept thinking about it, going on my lunch break twice to look at it then again today and what do you know...its gone. Then while I'm at the Habitat ReStore I find some awesome chairs for the office redo I'm working on only to find out they will not sell them without the set...aka the $150 dining set I don't need. I asked nicely, was told no. I told them they probably wouldn't sell the set because the table was messed up along with one of the chairs, I was told no. I told them I would pay $50 for two chairs (1/3 of the price), and again was told no. So I gave up. I plan to return in a week or so to try again, if luck turns my way and they don't sell it before then. Does anyone else stalk the Habitat ReStore? I'm planning a quick trip to the Habitat ReStore right down from my new apartment this afternoon so maybe tomorrow I will have some new finds.
Does anyone else love this cork board? Talk about inspiring! I'm still looking for the perfect fabric for the piece that will eventually cover all the shelves in my desk nook, a large inspiration board per se. And on a good note my parents delivered the chair I inherited from my grandmother so that will be going to the upholsterer one day to get recovered and will sit at the now chair less desk.
Until then...

inspiration and ideas
I am currently hard at work getting my closet finished, to be honest at this exact moment I am thinking of all the work that is still left to do. I am in the process of getting some organizational items that will help store all the clutter and have a question for all of you.
Thoughts on plastic verses wood hangers? I have wanted to take the plunge and invest in wooden hangers but the plastic ones are so inexpensive! Hmm, what to do. I have a feeling plastic is going to win out but we will see on my trip to the store tomorrow.

However, I do have a lot of new ideas for the apartment. For instance I am looking to put a console table in our living room and dining room.
Lighting has been a really big problem in our apartment since we moved in, as in we have one source of outside light in the common areas of the apartment, a sliding glass door. Yes, I know what your thinking. I try and never use the word hate in my life but I hate that door. I hate that it literally takes away all the natural light in the whole apartment and its ugly. I just want it to go away.
We need more light in the living room thus a console table behind the couch. That will hold two lamps and house some extra storage as well. I am really loving this one.
Its a little retro, which I love. Its also the perfect height for my couch which is also Ikea and is very low to the ground compared to other couches. I have been looking and looking for something that is the right height but nothing even comes close so alas its either DIY or go the Ikea route. I'm still debating, at $199 I want to really like it so I'm giving it a little time to simmer. For now I will continue to enjoy all the natural light coming in from Mr. Sliding Glass door. :)
Today I also came across a great older console at a thrift store that I loved. I forgot to take a picture but it was in pretty bad condition so I am also still debating on that one as well. I'm going to go back and take a second look later this week so we shall see. It has a little bit of that hollywood regency vibe and I think painted a striking blue or even pink!!! would be an awesome addition to my dining room set and the scale wall, plus the added extra benefit of more lighting!
A little picture inspiration.
We shall see, I'll share some real pics of some of the pieces I have found soon. Hopefully the new closet reveal will happen on Thursday, keep your fingers crossed!
